You don't have ebola. So there's that.

One time, I nearly lost my eye due to a nerf gun accident. And by one time, I mean three days before my nineteenth birthday. It's pretty funny, I think.

Another time, I tried asking this girl out (who I had a crush on for most of my school years). The first time, she said yes, but then something came up. The second time, she said yes, but then said no because her mum wanted her home (she spent the previous weekend away). The third time, she said yes, but then said no because it was her cat's birthday and they were throwing a party for him.

I gave up after that.

Here's something to laugh at, The only bone I ever broke (my foot), I broke while doing the cotton eyed Joe. Aka this:

Then I walked on it for 10 months before getting it fixed, I walk funny now and ruin shoes

You have what sounds like a great internship. You're at a great school. Keep your mind on the important things. Don't let the other stuff drag you down. My recipe for true happiness needs two abstract things: Enjoyment and Confidence.

Enjoyment is what you fill your life with that you love (the easy part). The Trans-Am, sweet guitars, etc.

Confidence is the harder of the two to secure. Confidence is like security, the feeling you know that those Enjoyments will continue because you can sustain them. Letting outside factors (people or situations) dictate your choices to pursue those Enjoyments never goes well. Are you reacting to something that happened that? Rise to it, don't try and sidestep it. Poor choice? Learn from it, genuinely. It may be nominal, but something as subtle as switching your perspective helps. (Instead of "Shit, this happened. I should do this to react." replace it with "Shit, this happened. I'm going to do this in response because that is what I want to do to achieve this").

Keep the long term in mind. Sorry to sound long-winded, but I've been struggling with happiness and school and relationships and feeling incompetent, and ^this^ is the major takeaway I have from altering my thinking this summer.

As for the cheering up part...

The 1970 is going to be done at the end of September if my schedule holds (which it won't, but first/second week of October is still drivable).

Former Purdue buddy of mine wants me to go with him in the spring to tour Three Floyds and see a baseball game. We should totally swap cars for an afternoon, weird out our respective friends and make them think we honestly traded our cars. XD

Trans-Am for Mustang! You'll have to be okay with no overdrive though. What's the rear end ratio in yours, by the way?

My friend has his 2010 Camaro that I drive for him sometimes when he is not capable of driving after nights out or needs to grade papers (he's a math teacher) on road trips.

Hmm, I'm running 3.50 right now.

What's the short hand for your GM rear? 10 bolt is the only one I know.

10 bolt is all I know too... I'm not too good with rear ends or transmission gear ratios and other stuff like that.

you still up? cuz if you are, wanna here about how I showed off to a girl tonight???

A friend of mine and I are chilling in a relatively large group, but we're the only 2 who have actually quick cars (My GLI and his RX8) So, we decide "let's go get gas and soda while the rest of the gang play Mao (car game)" So, we head for our cars, and one of the girls says she wants to ride in my buddy's RX8. I smile and say "you mean the slower car?"

At this point, another girl hears that, and says she'll ride with me to "even the payloads" we head out on the 5 minute drive to the gas station. The road to the gas station consists of a steep downhill, and the after a sharp left at a light, a straight shot on a 4-lane street to the shell station.

As we get down the hill, I realize "hey! there's NO ONE here, and there are no cops ever here!" So, I turn on to the street, and nail it! the RX8 behind me also picks it up, but even though he has more horsepower, I simply ride my wave of torque and get to the gas station MUCH faster. here, we buy drinks, and he suggests going from a side-by-side, standing stop to which I agree!

We get ready, and set off, and I walked him all the way back to the hill, where I reasonably drove back to the park where we were chillin'!

TL;DR drove fast, girl had fun, showed up friend

8.5" corporate 10 bolt like all 71-81 F-bodies. If it's a posi it's a clutch-type Eaton.
